In Awe - inspired by Psalm 139

It was love at first sight

I happened to walk by the mirror and catch a glimpse of your light

Your skin glows like hidden gold but you are more than buried treasure

You are the whole rainbow

Smile so colorful when you wear it like a halo

Ambrosia aura need tints on your lenses when I walk in the room

Baby, I step like God himself invited me

Shoulders straight because the weight on them keeps me balanced

I don’t see struggle

I see a challenge

See my mother, my mother birthed me in a refugee camp with no pain meds

Only a midwife and a prayer

I’m built different

I’m built different

I’m built different

I am built different

Guarding my heart because my softness might wound you fragile niggas

Don’t you know it’s pain that makes art look THIS good

I be a muse no frames

I shift borders cross-continental

Euphoria without drugs

I’m an addict for growth because it’s from the concrete where I rose

Thorns that will keep you in a chokehold

I’m a God body

I make the devil pace

Transform this rage

Turn my cuts into kaleidoscope prisms

I am hope personified

Victory is me because I win by any means

God took his time on you! Approaching life with the mindset that the King is your father shifts your perspective exponentially. Who are you to play small as though your entire existence hasn’t been written by the best author to ever do it? ✍🏾
