In Between— Thoughts of A Creative Entrepreneur!

There is a version of me that has brought her wildest dreams to fruition. I catch glimpses of her when I break repetitive cycles that have held me in a chokehold for years. I peak beyond the veil of time and I’m astonished by her sense of discipline, self-worth, and ambition. The woman staring back at me in the mirror with soft almond eyes has faced her fears toe to toe. She has overcome battles that might bring tears to your eyes. My life is no tragedy when I wear it like a smile. As for me, I have faith. I read somewhere that God only gives you what you can handle. At times this statement can be stress-inducing. Do you mean to tell me God believes I can handle THIS?( ________________________

Did you overcome this obstacle? Personally, I’ve had moments where I couldn’t see myself getting out of bed, moments I grieved in silence, and secrets I will probably take to the grave. Throughout every single one of those times, I truly didn’t think I had what it took to bring myself out of it. Experience is one hell of a teacher! Experience is an artist’s source of inspiration. My poetry is an extension of me. I’ve recorded some of my most intimate moments in similes, metaphors, and rhyme in hopes that maybe you can read in between the lines. I write poetry for myself. In more ways than one, all of my creative outlets are just my ways of expressing what I feel. I enjoy turning pain into art. There is a reason why the most beautiful art comes from struggle, times of deep introspection, or even joy! The goal is expression. It’s translating your innermost desires, fears, and hopes onto paper one line at a time. I don’t create to monetize, I create to bring my truth to life. If it can get me paid that’s just a bonus I’m willing to accept with a smile.
